Chemigation & Fertigation
Mazzei® injectors are patented, high-efficiency venturi injectors featuring internal mixing vanes. They are utilized globally for the introduction of gases and liquids—such as fertilizers, pesticides, chlorine, and various chemicals—into irrigation systems. These injectors operate effectively across a broad range of pressures and necessitate only a minimal pressure differential between their inlet and outlet sides to initiate suction at the suction port. They do not rely on external power sources for operation, although in certain scenarios, a small booster pump may be required to generate the minimal pressure differential required. Today, Mazzei venturi injectors are widely recognized as the industry standard in both chemigation and fertigation.
AirJection® Irrigation
For generations, tillage has stood as the conventional means of aerating the root zone to enhance crop yields. However, today, Mazzei offers an alternative with its AirJection irrigation technology, which directly infuses air into the soil, effectively plowing without a plow. AirJection operates by drawing air into subsurface drip irrigation water through Mazzei injectors, dispersing it as fine bubbles within the water stream, and delivering it directly to the root system. This approach reduces plant stress, enhances water and air absorption, and stimulates soil microbial activity.
Since 2000, the Center for Irrigation Technology at California State University, Fresno—in addition to other universities worldwide—has conducted numerous trials exploring aeration in subsurface drip irrigation through the utilization of AirJection technology. Data gleaned from these trials, as well as from grower installations, demonstrates that aerated drip irrigation significantly improves soil health and enhances the efficiency of water and fertilizer usage, resulting in increased yields and improved crop quality.
Mazzei Fertigation Skids
The Mazzei Fertigation Skids seamlessly integrate liquid fertilizer with irrigation water, with Mazzei venturi injectors serving as their core component. These injectors ensure thorough blending and uniform dispersion of nutrients within the irrigation water. Through the utilization of flow meters and additive flow control valves, injection rates can be finely adjusted to guarantee precise fertilizer application. Furthermore, this compact skid delivers the exceptional mixing and accuracy associated with Mazzei venturi technology without impeding mainline pressure or flow.
