Chemigation & Fertigation

Mazzei injectors are patented, high-efficiency venturi injectors with internal mixing vanes. They are used worldwide for injecting gases and liquids such as fertilizers, pesticides, chlorine, and other chemicals into pressurized water systems. Mazzei injectors operate over a wide range of pressures and require only a minimal pressure differential between the inlet and outlet sides to initiate a vacuum at the suction port. Mazzei injectors do not require external power to operate, but in some situations a small booster pump may be necessary to produce the minimal differential pressure required. Today Mazzei venturi injectors are still the benchmark in chemigation and fertigation.

Tru-Blend is the latest approach to precisely and efficiently blend liquid fertilizer and irrigation water. Tru-Blend applies the precise rate and balance of nutrients during every stage of the crop growth cycle and can be utilized in a wide range of flows. And since Mazzei injectors are used, you are assured that the nutrients are uniformly distributed throughout the irrigation water, and therefore, evenly distributed through the field. High crop yield and soil health continue to be major agricultural concerns, and to attain this, plowing continues to be the most accepted method of introducing air to root systems. Today there is Mazzei AirJection irrigation technology for aerating root systems… basically, plowing without a plow. It draws air into irrigation water through Mazzei injectors. The air, in the form of micro-bubbles in the water stream, is then delivered directly to the root system by way of subsurface drip irrigation. This puts less stress on the plant and gives it the ability to absorb water, air and boost soil microbial activity. California State University, Fresno and the Center for Irrigation Technology have conducted numerous trials since 2000 on aeration in subsurface drip irrigation using AirJection. Data from university-led trials and grower installations has shown that aerated drip irrigation achieves yield increases due to efficiency of both water and fertilizer use which are greatly enhanced through AirJection irrigation.
